In March 2018, Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival celebrated fashion, arts and ideas in the country’s largest consumer fashion event.

The 22nd year of The Festival pulled focus to the themes for of Fashion, Future and Technology.

The Festival saw 50 runway events taking place across the entire program including a new Exclusive Bridal Runway presented by Harper’s Bazaar Bride. The runways showcased the season’s leading trends, presented by designers such as CAMILLA AND MARC, Dion Lee, Carla Zampatti, Alice McCall, Rachel Gilbert and P.E Nation to name a few. 

The Ideas and Arts program focused on the themes of sustainability, ethical fashion and exploring technology. Highlights included the Marimekko exhibition at the Bendigo Art Gallery, the Mira Mora and Lisa Gorman talk at Heide Museum and the You Can’t Do That Exhibition at Melbourne Museum.

The Ideas program boasted the most impressive line-up of women speakers in The Festival’s history, including Liane Moriarty, internationally acclaimed best-selling author of Big Little Lies, Wen Zhou, Chief Executive Officer of 3.1 Phillip Lim and Fanny Moizant, founder of Vestiaire Collective.

Special guests included UnReal’s Kassandra Clementi, Helena Christensen and Rebecca Judd.

With the majority Runway tickets sold out, the 22nd year of The Festival proved to be one of the most successful in the Festival’s history. Highlight coverage included Channel 9, 10 and 7 news features and weather crosses, M Mag cover feature story and the Herald Sun Mad March cover.

David Jones sure knows how to throw a dinner party. AMPR were honoured to again work with the team as they kicked off spring with an incredible dinner and show for 330 high profile guests to celebrate their 2017 Spring Summer Collections Launch.

Incorporating the dinner element to celebrate both the new food strategy and the history of the wonderful ‘On Seven’, the launch was celebrated as one of the best ever by media and VIPs guests in attendance and the perfect send off to the parades iconic Sydney residence.


Ambassadors Jesinta Franklin and Jessica Gomes led the runway along with special guests Bridget Malcolm, Shanina Shaik and DJ Ruckus for one of the most lavish and exciting shows to date.

The incredible Collections Launch forecast this seasons trends and highlighted fashion in true Australian style, celebrating ‘Everything Under the Sun’.

Together with Mazda Australia, AMPR were thrilled to develop an exclusive snow event concept at the Victorian snow fields of Mount Buller. The Mazda Snow Escape was designed specifically for key media and influencers to celebrate the next-gen Mazda CX-5 and ambassador and Olympic Snowboarder, Alex Chumpy Pullin.

 

The exclusive guest list included the likes of models Natalie Roser and Chloe Ciesla, Actors Lincoln Lewis and Harley Bonner, Bloggers from Lion in the Wild and The Tailored Man and lifestyle journalist of Buro 24/7, Noelle Faulkner.  Guests were flown to Melbourne to commence a drive program through the picturesque Yarra Valley before reaching their final destination at Mt Buller to enjoy a few exciting days at the snow filled with activities, snowboarding, beautiful meals and lots of fun!

AMPR was delighted to assist Sensis and The Valentina Group to deliver strong media outcomes to support the Australian Grand Prix Corp (AGPC) partnership and VIP activation in The Lounge. 

Continuing on from the successful campaign with Victoria Racing Club, AMPR worked to leverage key local and international talent, including Destiny’s Child’s Kelly Rowland and X-Factor’s Dami Im, as well as local VIP guests to achieve fantastic PR results across the entire event.

Sensis guests included The Bachelor’s Alex Nation and Richie Strahan, AFL stars Nic Naitanui and Marc Murphy (and wife Jessie), Sharon and Michelle Marsh from Married at First Sight, The Bachelorette’s Georgie Love and Lee Elliott, stylist Lana Wilkinson, model Elyse Knowles and performers Tim Campbell and Anthony Callea.

Now in it’s 21st year, the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival presented the longest festival to date, hosting an impressive 19 days of fashion and cementing Melbourne as Australia’s premier Fashion destination.
 
Spanning over three style packed weekends, the 2017 program encompassed three major pillars; Fashion, Arts and Ideas, further affirming the Festival’s position as one of the world’s largest and most respected consumer fashion events. 
 
The Gala Runway, presented by David Jones and supported by Vogue Australia, kick started the world class runway schedule at the Royal Exhibition Building with the the largest line up of Australian and International designers, while the Virgin Australia Grand Showcase, supported by marie claire, honoured the extraordinary talents of Camilla and Marc.
 
With VAMFF now comfortably settled into its iconic home, The Royal Exhibition Building and Melbourne Museum Precinct, this year’s Plaza space came alive with exciting new activations. Supported by the City of Melbourne, The Plaza was the place to be snapped by street style photographers. The Festival’s immersive outdoor hub hummed with activity and excitement each evening of Premium Runway week. Attendees made the most of the Melbourne’s unseasonably warm autumn weather enjoying activations hosted by VAMFF partners including Asahi and Chadstone.
 
The Festival’s ideas program and business events featured international keynote speakers Alexander Elicha and Nicolas Dreyfus of The Kooples, Luca Alessi, designer and entrepreneur Cynthia Rowley and Adidas Originals Director of Collaborations Rachel Muscat.

The official Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival launched at Government House, Melbourne on 1st March 2017. Her Excellency the Honourable Linda Dessau AC Governor alongside Festival CEO Graeme Lewsey and Festival Chairman, Laura Anderson welcomed the beginning of VAMFF 2017 alongside special guests Australian actress Bella Heathcote, David Jones Ambassador Jess Gomes, VIP guests Olympia Valance and Jodi Gordon, industry guests, fashion designers and Festival advocates for a celebration marking the beginning of what will be a Festival packed full of fashion, excitement  and diversity.

The Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion festival will run from 1-19 March 2017.

AMPR was thrilled to work with Asahi Premium Beverages for the highly anticipated debut of the Somersby Polo Lounge at the Polo in the City as a part of the national Urban Polo series. It was the first time Australia’s number one selling cider Somersby secured the naming rights sponsorship of the Polo Lounge, which ran nationally in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide.

The lounge played host to a number of special guests including Miss Universe Australia 2015 Monika Radulovic, Nadia Fairfax, Ksenija Lukich, Scherri Lee Biggs, Port Adelaide star Robbie Gray,  The Bachelor 2016 winner Alex Nation, and The Bachelorette 2016 contestants Courtney Dober, Cameron Cranley and Sam Johnston.

It was all about the cider this year with an array of Somersby’s delicious signature cocktail jugs featuring Apple, Pear and Blackberry to choose from whilst watching all the action of the Polo from the best seats in the house.

Within the lounge guests shared fun moments with friends playing lawn games including giant jenga and coits and taking part in the annual polo activities such as stomping the divots and watching fashions on the field.

Providing the finest in entertainment, hospitality and style, the 2016 Somersby Polo Lounge was truly an unmissable event.

On Thursday November 17th, AMPR worked alongside the Chemist Warehouse team and Kelly Black to gather 350 top-tier media, influencers and key CWG stakeholders to promote the launch of Paris Hilton Gold Rush with a luxe, gold themed VIP event at Crown’s iconic Club 23.

Hosted by comedian Ash Williams, guests were treated to delicious canapés, whilst enjoying entertainment from DJs Chloe Wilson and Chloe Maggs followed by a Q & A with the woman of the hour, Paris Hilton.

The event garnered both social media and editorial coverage.
