Following the announcement of new naming rights partner Virgin Australia late last year we were thrilled to work alongside the dedicated Melbourne Fashion Festival team to deliver world-class fashion, beauty and business event the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival (VAMFF). This years festival was the biggest and best yet and we were very proud to be involved.

Held from March 17-23 the Festival kicked off with a 3000 people extravaganza, the Opening Event presented by David Jones and supported by Vogue Australia, which saw David Jones Ambassadors Jessica Gomes and Montana Cox grace the runway in a show that featured more than 200 looks, 40 designers and 39 models.

The following morning VIP media and guests were treated to breakfast at Tiffany’s and a salon style fashion show for the announcement of the 2014 Tiffany & Co. National Designer Award winner. Taking home the prestigious award this year was Melbourne based design duo Peter Strateas and Mario-Luca Carlucci from Strateas.Carlucci.

The week continued with seven premium runway shows presented by some of Australia’s leading magazines including Miss Vogue, Instyle, Harper’s BAZAAR, Elle Australia, SHOP Til You Drop, Cosmopolitan and Frankie. The shows featured some of Australia’s best designer’s including Josh Goot, Toni Maticevski, Bassike, Alpha 60, Ginger & Smart, Sass & Bide, Ellery and Michael Lo Sordo to name a few. Key autumn winter trends that emerged this year included socks and sandals, designer trainers and snap backs, pastel trench coats and cute prints like Gorman’s winter vegetables and Leonard St.’s Bambi sweatshirts and blouses.

An undisputed highlight off the festival week was the Grand Showcase featuring CAMILLA. Styled by creative genius Mark Vassallo and featuring live music from the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, the audience was treated to a kaleidoscope of colour as Camilla Franks AW14 collection ‘And God Created Women’ graced the 50m runway in spectacular style.

We would like to congratulate Festival CEO Graeme Lewsey, Chairman Laura Anderson and team on an outstanding festival.
