AMPR worked with not-for-profit organisation YGAP on the public relations campaign for 5cent, a nationwide initiative asking Aussies to put value back in the five-cent piece and raise much needed funds for youth education projects in Australia, Africa and Asia.
After the success of the 2012 campaign, which raised one million five-cent pieces, YGAP set an audacious objective to collect three million five-cent pieces in 2013.
Through the efforts of collectors, supporters and pledges, YGAP managed to collect a fantastic 3,006,260 coins, a whopping total of $150,313!
Through AMPR’s public relations campaign including an interview and feature on Channel Ten’s The Project, YGAP was able to reach over 19 million Australians! The detailed story on The Project led to over 16,000 people to visit the 5cent website in one week, crashing the site and creating a great buzz around the initiative.
The whole AMPR team loved being part of this exciting campaign, making small change, into big change.
