AMPR knows… Our Favourite Collaborations

By Bridget Halpin

Keeping up to date on new industry tools, the media landscape, major events and brand competitors is extremely important in the PR industry and over the years, we have both seen and had the privilege of working on some pretty incredible designer collaborations.

When two brands come together for a greater cause or to combine their creative directions, we see some spectacular collections come to life in ways we wouldn’t expect.

Here are some of our favourite collaborations.

For the 2021 White Shirt Campaign, Witchery joined forces with the renowned fashion designer Toni Maticevski to create the most perfect White Shirt, featuring the great structured detailing he is known for, to raise money for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation. The White Shirt ended up selling out which was an incredible result. Seeing the campaign come to life is always special and to have so many people supporting this year’s campaign with Toni was truly amazing.

Another one of our clients, Specsavers, has worked with established Australian and International designers for years including the late Carla Zampatti, Alex Perry, Marc Jacobs, Levis and Viktor and Rolf. Some strong eyewear collections have been created which truly reflect each designer’s own unique aesthetics and feature statement detailing and bold shapes. Being priced affordably, the Specsavers collaborations allow everyone access leading designer names and to make a fashion statement in their glasses.

H&M released its first designer collection in 2004 with none other than Karl Lagerfeld.  The collection sold out in minutes and while it set the bar high for future collaborations, the fashion retailer has never failed to excite customers. They have since added Versace, Alexander Wang, Isabel Marant, Moschino and Balmain to the list, just to name a few. More recently, H&M teamed up with one of our favourite Aussie brands P.E. Nation on an athleisure collection which reimagined some of their signature styles.

There really have been so many great designer collaborations and we can’t wait to see what is next.
