No Makeup Makeup’
AKA ‘Skinimalism’ – this trend won’t go away and it’s one of my favourites. If COVID taught me one thing that’s how to pay attention to my skin so I am here for the minimal makeup look. After all, I spend 80% of my disposable income on skincare products…eeek!
‘No Makeup Makeup’ is all about wearing makeup that lets your natural skin shine through, with very light coverage and minimal products used in your routine.
IF YOU WANT TO AVOID WRINKLES, PLEASE WEAR SUNSCREEN. Yes, every day. Yes, even the cloudy days!
The #1 brow trend of the past year has been the ‘soap brow’, a combed out, firm brow held on by a brow gel or laminate. Get yourself a clear hair gel or a soap bar to achieve the look of a bold yet sleek brow.
This one essentially involves soaking yourself in all the nice things, like serums, moisturiser and skin oils. Skincare is the focus here, to achieve a dewy look a-la-naturale or, pair under your ‘no makeup makeup’ look. Either way, looking like a glazed donut is a total vibe.
Made famous by Kim K back in 2018, the Platelet Rich Plasma Treatment is still buzz-worthy in 2021 as many consumers are focused on crystal clear, youthful skin. The treatment involves drawing your blood, spinning it in a centrifuge in order to extract the PRP and then injecting this back into the skin to improve skin tone, texture and reduce signs of aging.
If you haven’t tried a hybrid formula Foundation yet, then you are missing out on all of the fun. For those who want a lazy girl’s guide to looking like a 10/10 in the morning, OR that just want to lather as much skincare on as they can, skincare infused makeup is for you.
All About The Eyes
With mask wearing dominating so much of 2020 and early 2021, makeup trends have shifted to the top half of the face. Go bold on the eyes, with high impact metallic looks, abstract eyeliner and strong colours.
Skincare for the Body
It doesn’t have to stop at your neck – your whole body needs hydration too! 2021 has seen brands delving into new territory with body care to introduce ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin C and Vitamin E into body products to keep the skin looking and feeling nourished and brighter.
