belVita Mum’s Battle It Out For $10,000 Prize
Last week Australia’s top ‘mum-athletes’ battled it out in Sydney for their chance to win a whopping $10,000 as part of belVita Breakfast’s ‘Mumathlon’ challenge.
belVita ‘Mumathlon’ ran across the nation in the first three weeks of April through radio partner Mix FM, where they asked time-poor mums and dads to enter themselves, or nominate someone they knew who had what it takes in a series of fun and oversized ‘morning’ challenges. Regional finals took place in Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney with the winner from each state flown to Sydney to compete in the final live event.
Queensland mum of three Annette Moon was the strongest on the day and competed the course in the quickest time, taking home the $10,000 cheque, which she says will be very handy as she is leaving her full-time job to join the Police Force. It was obvious to the crowd her Police training had come in handy as she whipped through each activity with lightening speed.
Celebrity mums, ex-Olympian Jane Flemming and The Block All Stars 2013 Winner Amity Dry, also got involved in the fun on the day and competed in a mini ‘Mumathlon’ charity challenge. Amity managed to beat Jane in the sock-pile throw and took home $3,000 to her chosen charity, Good Beginnings and runner-up Jane won $1,000 for her charity, The Humpty Dumpty Foundation.
